Winters Chapel COVID Assistance Fundraiser 

Helping our Neighbors in Need

There remains a great need in our community for continued financial assistance due to COVID; even when evictions continue to be put on hold by the state, the full amount owed will eventually come due for all renters. As you know, this led Winters Chapel UMC to start a Go Fund Me charity fundraiser specifically to raise assistance for our neighbors in need with a priority on helping with rent and utility assistance. We initially set a fundraising goal of $5,000 and as of December 31st, we have exceeded that initial goal by raising $7,725! To date, we have used those funds to help eight families with rent and power bills which had fallen into past-due status due to COVID (checks are written directly to the apartment complex or utility only).
